Underage marriages are still a widespread practice in many parts of the world. According to the UN population fund, nearly half of marriages in Afghanistan involve girls who are younger than 16. A friend sent me this news piece on aljazeera website regarding this subject.

The Baghdad morgue received 1100 bodies in July, as opposed to 1800 military scumbags who died since the invasion started. This number came from the morgue itself and not from the Americans or the Brits because as Tomy Franks put it "We don't do body counts" when asked about the number of Iraqi casualties. To all the diet soda lovers (one of whom being me): a new study links aspartame to a variety of illnesses, one of which is leukemia. Surprisingly enough, :P, industry officials discredit the study and point to studies conducted by them that found no link between aspartame and cancer.
